Why do we need an independent
evaluation?

Few districts have evaluated the
effectiveness of the Supplemental Education Service or after-school
efforts in their communities. The providers that have offered research
data on their efforts have relied on rudimentary evaluation methods.
Better evidence is needed before any Supplemental Education Service model
can be taken to a large scale. Options for Education
sets a high priority on evaluation.
